A little about myself…
I've worked in all sorts of industries and roles over the years. I can thrive in any work environment but I prefer those that allow me to have direct and meaningful impact. My favorite roles involve a dynamic collaborative environment, solving unique problems, and the autonomy to explore creative solutions.
I attended Wellesley College and double majored in Economics and Latin American Studies. After my undergraduate studies, I’ve continued learning and developing new skills through remote learning programs. I find that exploring new topics and talents helps me make new connections and consider different perspectives that I would not have discovered otherwise. In 2021, I received my certification in Fullstack Software Engineering through the Grace Hopper program at Fullstack Academy. I’m also a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO). My favorite non-career related subjects that I like to explore in my free time are Math, Astronomy, and Philosophy.
My parents are from Ecuador. I was born in Queens, the best borough in NYC! My first language is Spanish. Growing up, my neighborhood was mostly made up of immigrants so we managed to communicate and build relationships while all speaking different languages. Diversity and inclusion are very important to me and very much present in my thought process.
Outside of work, I have a number of different interests and hobbies. I love water sports, especially surfing. During the weekends I enjoy yoga, painting, and walking around the city. My favorite genre is Fiction, especially Magical Realism. Appropriately, my favorite artist is Gonzalo Endara Crow. My favorite historical figure is the fearless libertadora del libertador, Manuelita Saenz. I usually try to have less screen time but I do like to play relaxing journey games (shout out to thatgamecompany).
I have close friends that own a taqueria in Brooklyn and I occasionally volunteer. I don’t mind wearing different hats, so I’ll usually help in whichever area they need most. Last year I participated in their booth at EEEEEATSCON 2023.
